I know this sounds really cliche, but I can't believe another year just zoomed past like this. I'd say this year was just as rough as the previous, but I guess all these made me a stronger person.
In January, I was still in UAE, Dubai for the 1st two weeks. I had to miss the 1st two lessons of my 3rd trimester. This was also the time when I was introduced to the worst university module ever - Media and Globalization. I never understood a single lesson on every Monday and I failed my first and only assignment throughout my university days.
In February, I met my boss, JJ Lin in flesh for the 1st time. We had a mini lao yusheng celebration inside the store and I got my 1st red packet for 2011 from him.
In March, we celebrated Sharon & Gabriel's ROM.
In April, the worst ever module ended on a positive note with me passing it. Then I went on an awesome 10-day Taiwan trip with Karlyn, Sammie, Yuer and Suet. I'm missing it really badly just looking at the photos.
In May, my family celebrated Ian's 1st birthday. I was not present because I was in Taiwan, so I hope I'll be in Singapore when we celebrate his 2nd birthday next May. It was also the month when I took another bad module (Knowledge & Information Security) which resulted in me wanting to drop that elective and re-take another one another trimester. I sucked my thumb and carried on with it, though missing night classes every now and then because I dreaded it so much. Surprisingly, my grades were not that bad - scored distinctions for 2x 4500 words essays, and a high distinction for my exam.
In June, I received my first laptop - a MacBook Pro from my dad. I had been wanting it for more than half a year and I finally got it during the IT show. Karlyn and I attended a concert in late June and managed to see our idol for more than 5 years up-close.
In July, I requested for a month leave from work to deal with my heavy workload. I'm really glad I took leave because my grades improved so much! It was also the month I celebrated my 22nd birthday with FQC surprising me with a lovely cake at one of the restaurants in Taka, and having dinner with my family at a Japanese BBQ place at Holland V.
In August, I took my last exam on the 12th and then I was free from assignments, essays, presentations, sleepless nights, mugging and the likes. Then I went on a 6-day Malaysia trip with Karlyn and Laureen. It was basically a foodie trip and I got to try a lot of awesome Malaysian cuisine all thanks to the two girls and their family.
In September, I went for yet another 2D1N trip to Malaysia with Karlyn. This was possibly the best Malaysia trip considering the fact that we managed to complete whatever that needed to be done.
In October, I passed my 4th and final trimester with 2/3 distinctions, which further proved that the leave from work really helped. My mum and sisters attended my convocation held at Raffles Convention Centre on the 11th. That day marked my final day as a student. FQC attended Sammie's 21st birthday in mid-Oct. I've known this girl since she was 14!
In November, I went for a 2 days x 14 hours/day foundation workshop and met many beautiful girls whom I share the same dream with. Never did I once regret going for it because it warms my heart receiving encouragement from them. I'm so happy for them as they would soon be realizing their dreams. Well-done girls! It was also the same month which I felt dejected because of something that went wrong. I wanted it so much that I saw myself giving my best-est but to no avail.
In December, I was exposed to yet another awesome opportunity and I hope things would turn out well for me eventually /fingers crossed. I also met up with many different groups of friends before the year ends. A concluding event was me going to Hong Kong for a week with my mum, younger sister and aunt. I haven been to HK for a good 5 years!
I'll be embarking on a brand new journey come February 2012. It's something I've been wanting to do all along, and I finally have the opportunity to turn my dream into reality.
Have a happy new year and may this brand new year bring about more beautiful memories for you.
